Multi-Level Strip Out in an Occupied Building
– Scope Of Work
The head office of our national carrier, Air New Zealand, was undergoing an extensive refurbishment. One which would see the bathrooms within their Fanshawe Street offices in the Auckland CBD be refurbished over 11 stages between January and August 2020.
The bathroom refurbishments were contracted to Q Interiors Ltd, who subcontracted iDemo to strip out 11 bathrooms across six floors in preparation.
– Action We Undertook
iDemo set about systematically removing fixtures from each floor including
- Cubicles, toilets, showers and joinery
- Fixtures and fittings
- Ceilings, walls and flooring
A crew of four on each job moved efficiently through each stage. As the building remained occupied during work hours, most of the demolition work occurred during evenings and Saturdays.
The iDemo crew had the areas safely stripped out and the demolition waste removed immediately.
– Completion & Results
This left the bathroom areas cleared and prepared for refurbishment. The result for Air New Zealand overall is improved bathroom functionality and capacity, providing sleek modern bathroom space for the numerous staff who use the facilities.
